Kosta Gitane's initiation into the world of electro music began when he found a box of tapes on his street's sidewalk. Curious, he took the box home to hear their contents. As he pressed play on his boombox, the sounds of John Carpenter had enveloped his imagination & transported him to a brave new world of electronic music. This first exposure whetted his appetite and soon finding more of this music consumed his time. Kosta Gitane's music is one part dancefloor killer and one part soundtrack to an imaginary cult film. Within a blend of throbbing bass drums and pulsating synths are the influences of Daft Punk, MSTRKRFT, John Carpenter, and Jan Hammer. Posting his music up on myspace, he soon drew the attention of labels and received a write up in the respected electro music e-zine Skrufff, who called Kosta "one to watch"! He is scheduled to tour Europe in the fall of 2007 behind a 12" release (OUT NOW!!!) on Beautycase Records with dates in the UK, Germany & The Netherlands. |
